Erhaltung:
- K steht für Knick, B für einen schwächeren, meist nur einseitig sichtbaren Knick.
- E steht für Ecke, EK ist also ein Eckknick, EB ein minder schwerer Eckknick.
- EA: angestoßene Ecken, gelegentlich in der Form 1 EA für nur eine angestoßene Ecke.
- ER steht für Einriß
- o steht auch hier für Stempel, o-Fleck also für Stempelfleck, o-Spur für starken Durchdruck des Stempels.

Preservation:
- K means a kink, B a weaker kink, mostly to be seen from one side only.
- E means corner, thus EK a kink along a corner, EB a weaker kink along a corner.
- EA means pushed corners, by 1 EA we denote, that only 1 corner is pushed.
- ER means a crack.
- o means postmark here too, o-Fleck is a spot from postmarking, o-Spur a trace from the back side postmark.
